Learn wildlife photography in the company of the beautiful deer of Richmond Park at sunrise or sunset
If you love getting out and about in nature, and want to learn how to capture beautiful wildlife photographs then this is the workshop for you!
During this Richmond Park photography workshop, you will learn how to capture exciting, creative wildlife images through ‘in the field’ tutorials in front of the majestic Red and Fallow deer that occupy the Royal park. There are countless beautiful backdrops, including Silver Birch Tree copses, lone Oak Trees, ferns and lakes, ensuring you will come away with beautiful images to be proud of.
At the same time as learning the technical side of photography, we will talk a lot about the thought process of creating (not just taking) photos. I will offer tips on composition, guide your photographic eye and help you develop a proactive photography mindset, ensuring you can apply your new found skills to any given situation when photographing in the future.
Subjects covered:
• Tips and tricks for creative compositions
• The importance of backgrounds in wildlife photography
• Making the most of the available light

As a reasonably experienced photographer I wasn't sure how much I would get from the workshop but I learned a few techniques I hadn't considered and got some photos I was really pleased with. Matt clearly knows what he's talking about and I am very pleased I did his workshop.

A very enjoyable workshop in Richmond Park - despite the rain! Matthew set a very good balance between practical theory, shooting sessions and in the field advice - he’s also very knowledgeable about the park and wildlife. I came away with much better shots than I’ve managed before and look forward to going back myself

Excellent photography workshop - learnt several new facts and techniques from Matthew to maximise wildlife opportunities & transform the look of my images to include: the manual use of white balance/kelvin values on drab/grey days, the use of a low vantage point, paying equal attention to the background as the subject and the pros and cons of different ISO/shutter/aperture settings. Highly recommended workshop to take your photography to the next level.

We spent over 3 hrs walking around Richmond Park in London, taking wildlife shots(mainly deer). A really good afternoon out, chilly as shadows lengthened and the sun went down. Matthew seems to have an endless knowledge of all things to do with current photographic technology. Our group included Sony, Nikon and Canon technologies - he was equally comfortable discussing each in-depth. So, as well as giving tips on how to frame shots, he offered a lot of advice on camera set-up(beyond the basics) and how to understand and use the vast array of settings for different subject types and situations. We were then able to immediately put his advice into practice. In all, it was a really enjoyable afternoon. Matthew knows his stuff, and makes it easy for you to ask questions and expand your photographic knowledge. I'd recommend Matthew's workshops, without hesitation.
