Yoga and meditation class designed to allow younger children the opportunity to explore the ability to regulate emotion in a fun filled way.
Mindful-me are yoga and mindful meditation classes for children. These classes encourage children to explore their emotions in a fun filled way.
Children will be give the opportunity to explore multiple relaxation exercises and strategies which they can use independently when feeling the ‘big emotions’.
It is widely recognised in adult life that the use of yoga and meditation can greatly improve mental mortality and life outcomes. For this reason I believe it is important to encourage the same strategies to be provided and distilled into young children, enabling them to have coping skills to navigate their way through life.
During the classes children will engage in fundamental yoga. This is yoga through game, exercise or play. By providing children with learning opportunities through this medium, they are more likely to engage and remember the learning outcome we want them to gain from the class. Children will be given the opportunity to explore their breath and the importance of the breath when it comes to our racing minds. They will learn different breathing exercises which may be used at their convenience. All classes will then end with a meditation script, providing children with the opportunity to totally relax and experience the feeling of calm.
